- Scope and Content
- 1 colour laser photocopy (oversized) sheet with 12 laser photocopies of people and places in Lethbridge, complete with identifications written by George Harold Van Allen. The images are identified here beginning at the top left and running down in columns. 1)A view of the coulees, or valley of the Belly [Oldman] River, our water supply. In the valley is seen the brushwood where we scout etc., and the city pumping station. The city coal mines are a little to the right of the pump house. In the distance is the (CPR) Canadian Pacific Railway bridge. 2)The rear of Central School. I was too far away and haven't [sic] it centred correctly. The window marked is my room and is exactly beside my desk. The senior pupils enter at the left and junior at the right. At the right of the building are out tennis courts. The picture is looking east. The assembly hall covers almost the whole third floor. We have 14 rooms going here and keep one or two supply teachers all the time. 3)A branch of the world's greatest organization exterior of the YMCA building at 4th Avenue and 10th Street South. 4)A view from my room window at YMCA overlooking (RNWMP) Royal North West Mounted Police grounds toward Central School and the big standpipe to increase the city water pressure. 5)Entrance to YMCA. 6)Street scene in Lethbridge. These trees and boulevards are all over the city. They looked best this year ever. 7)People in line to get homesteads at Lethbridge land office. I took this photograph about 8:30 a.m. on May 1 the day the office opened. Note police on ground. 8)My house in early June. 9)Indian parade here at fair 1911 10)Four of our teachers playing tennis near our school 11)Section of Canadian Pacific Railway yards, ? Elevation here 12)Claude and I developing our films in our room - a flashlight
