History Biographical
Trevor Bennet (1948 – 2024) was a music educator and adjudicator based in Lethbridge and Calgary, Alberta. Born in Lethbridge to Harry and Florence Bennett, he began music lessons at an early age and passed numerous Toronto Conservatory of Music exams, gaining a silver medal in 1966 for the highest Grade 8 organ marks. Bennett earned his degrees in fine arts and education from the University of Lethbridge. Bennett taught piano, organ, music history, harmony, and music analysis for many years, as well as adjudicating music competitions. Fern Brooks, his wife, is a Lethbridge native and worked at the Lethbridge Herald as both a writer and editor in the 1980s.
