History Biographical

David Matthews (Dave Matthews) was born September 9, 1944 grew up in Lethbridge, attended Hamilton, Central and LCI schools. He worked as a graphic artist and illustrator, responsible for the design of the Whoop-Up Days logo. For many years he worked as a graphic designer at the Lethbridge Community College. Together with friend Denny Goshinmon, David played in various bands, bass guitar and drums. He passed away in December 2003. His father was C.R. Matthews of the Lethbridge Herald.
