- A collection of travel brochures and letters belonging to Dorothy Gentleman. Known as Aunt Dorothy, she ran Dorothy’s Playhouse, a kindergarten, in her house for several years. She was born in Aberdeen, Scotland and moved to Alberta in 1922 with her parents. In 1928 she married William Donald Gentleman and had children with him. The family came to Lethbridge in 1943. Her school gained an international reputation for her policy of accepting children with developmental disabilities. For her efforts in early childhood education, Dorothy was named Canada’s mother of the year in 1961.
