- 1. TOP OF IRON: 2.9CM (H) X 28.5CM (L) X 20.4CM (W). ROUND CAST IRON LID "ALFRED ANDRESEN & CO - MINNEAPOLIS" ENGRAVED AROUND OUTER CIRCLE, AND "2424 KORNU KOPIA KRUMB KAKE PATENTED" IN CENTRE CIRCLE. HAVE TWO RAISED CIRCLE OUTLINES ON TOP. ON LEFT SIDE IS SMALL TAB. ON BOTTOM IS ROUND HOLLOW HANDLE THAT IS HIGHER THAN LID SURFACE. HAS SMALL HALF-CIRCLE CUTOUT OF BOTTOM OF HANDLE. OPPOSITE HANDLE IS HALF OF HINGE. THIS IS A SOLID HALF SPHERE WITH OTHER HALF HAVING NOTCHED BOTTOM WHERE BOTTOM HALF OF IRON FITS IN TO FORM HINGE. UNDERSIDE HAS ENGRAVED AND ETCHED FLORAL AND SWIRL PATTERN DESIGNS. HAS SAME SWIRL ON OUTSIDE CIRCLE, AND IN CENTRE IS A SIX SIDED FIGURE WHERE "KORNU KOPIA KRUMB KAKE" IS WRITTEN IN MIRROR IMAGE SO IT COMES OUT FORWARDS ON WAFER. HAS COATING OF GREASE AND SOME CORROSION. INSIDE DESIGN IS WORN IN PLACES. 2. BOTTOM LID: IDENTICAL TO #1 EXCEPT ON OUTSIDE NUMBER IN CENTRE READS "2423". 3. OVEN COVER: 5.4CM (H) X 37.6CM (L) X 28.3CM (W). CAST IRON COVER HAS FOUR TEETH ALONG BOTTOM TO HOLD ARTIFACT IN PLACE ON OVEN. HANDLE EXTENDS FROM THIS RIM AND FLARES OUT SLIGHTLY UNTIL COMES IN COMPLETE CIRCLE. END OF HANDLE IS HOLLOW AND HAS CAST IRON DESIGN OF "I" SHAPE IN MIDDLE SO FOUR OPEN SECTIONS ARE PRESENT IN CENTRE OF HANDLE. WHERE HANDLE MEETS RIM IS STAMPED "5 C". RIM HAS EXTRA LOOP ON ONE SIDE. ON REVERSE THIS IS NOTCH WHERE HINGE ON IRON RESTS. OPPOSITE THIS ON TOP IS SLOT WHERE HANDLE RESTS ON, AND ON OTHER TWO SIDES ARE TWO ROUND NOTCHES WHERE ONE TAB OF IRON RESTS. ON THIS SIDE WHERE HANDLE MEETS RIM IS "8" AND SOMETHING ILLEGIBLE ETCHED IN IRON. HAS COAT OF GREASE AND SOME SIGNS OF CORROSION.

DONOR HAS LIVED IN LETHBRIDGE AREA ALL HIS LIFE. PARENTS FARMED AT IRON SPRINGS, THEN RAN THE POST OFFICE. HE WAS A STEAM ENGINEER.
