Jim Kitagawa was born October 18, 1934 in Vancouver, B.C. His father M.H. (Matt) Kitagawa was born in Hikone-Shi, Shiga-Ken, Japan and immigrated with his parents to Canada in 1913. His mother is Kimi Nishizawa. When Jim was 8 the family was forced to relocate to Raymond Alberta as part of the Japanese Canadian internment. Jim pursued career in telecommunications. In this field he worked all across Alberta and North West Territories. In later years he lived in Calgary.
