IN 1949 THE DONOR PURCHASED THE DRESS FOR HER MARRIAGE, AT THE MAYFAIR SHOP IN LETHBRIDGE FOR $39.95. ACCORDING TO DONOR IT WAS A WORKING CLASS GIRL'S DRESS AND ALSO WAS NEVER WORN AGAIN. *UPDATE* IN 2017 COLLECTIONS ASSISTANT RUTHANN LABLANCE CONDUCTED A SURVEY OF CLOTHING, INCLUDING A WEDDING DRESS DONATED BY JEAN KOSKOSKI. THE FOLLOWING BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION WAS COMPILED USING ARTICLES FROM THE LETHBRIDGE HERALD. JEAN JUDY KOSKOSKI (NEE FRANCESCHI) IS THE SECOND DAUGHTER OF CARL FRANCESCHI AND MARY FRANCESCHI (NEE LINTERIS). SHE WAS MARRIED TO WILLIAM “BILL” KOSKOSKI ON MAY 14, 1949 AT SOUTHMINSTER CHURCH, WITH THE RECEPTION AND DANCE BEING HELD AT THE MARQUIS HOTEL. JEAN AND BILL’S WEDDING ANNOUNCEMENT DESCRIBE THE FOLLOWING: “THE BRIDE, WHO ENTERED THE CHURCH ON THE ARM OF HER FATHER, CHOSE A GOWN OF WHITE SHIMMERING SATIN, WITH SHEER YOKE, LONG LILY POINT SLEEVES AND A FULL SKIRT WITH BUSTLE BACK AND SIDE PANNIERS.” WILLIAM “BILL” KOSKOSKI WAS BORN AND RAISED IN HARDIEVILLE, THE OLDEST SON OF NICK AND MARY KOSKOSKI (MAIDEN NAME UNKNOWN). HE WAS EMPLOYED BY THE CPR FROM 1942 UNTIL HIS RETIREMENT IN 1962. BILL PASSED AWAY AT THE AGE OF 68 ON MARCH 6, 1989. MARY FRANCESCHI WAS BORN IN ITALY AND MOVED TO ALBERTA AS AN INFANT. SHE PASSED AWAY ON NOVEMBER 15, 1986. HER HUSBAND CARL PASSED AWAY IN 1963. SEE PERMANENT FILE FOR COPIES OF THE ARTICLES FROM THE LETHBRIDGE HERALD.
