ABOVE CARLAND IS "E II R" IN YELLOW, AND ABOVE THIS IS A QUEEN'S CROWN. BELOW GARLAND IS "CELEBRATE CANADA 2002", ALSO IN YELLOW. THERE ARE TWO TAGS INSIDE NECKLINE; ONE READS "GILDAN ACTIVEWEAR ULTRA COTTON HEAVYWEIGHT", OTHER GIVES MANUFACTURING INFO. AND CARE INSTRUCTIONS.

DONOR RECEIVED SHIRT IN CONJUNCTION WITH A LETHBRIDGE CITZENSHIP AWARD ON CANADA DAY 2002. AT THE SAME TIME DONOR WAS ALSO PRESENTED WITH A MINT COPY OF A VOLUNTEER DIME THAT WAS ISSUED THAT YEAR. SHIRT WAS TOO BIG FOR DONOR AND SHE NEVER WORE IT. DONOR RECEIVED AWARD FOR HER MANY CONTRIBUTIONS TO THE COMMUNITY. SHE SERVED ON THE CANADA DAY COMMITTEE ON A NUMBER OF OCCASIONS. SHE WORKED WITH A SMALL GROUP OF LADIES IN THE COMMUNITY TO RECOGNIZE THE CONTRIBUTION OF WOMEN TO THE DEVELOPMENT OF LETHBRIDGE. SHE WAS ABLE TO PERSUADE CITY COUNCIL, THE DEVELOPERS AND THE CITY NAMING COMMITTEE THAT A NEW DEVELOPMENT IN NORTH LETHBRIDGE SHOULD CELEBRATE WOMEN BY NAMING THE STREETS AFTER PROMINENT WOMEN WHO HAVE MADE A SIGNIFICANT CONTRIBUTION TO LETHBRIDGE. SHE ALSO CONVINCED THEM TO NAME THE NEW URBAN PARKS THAT WERE TO BE DEVELOPED IN NORTH LETHBRIDGE AFTER WOMEN (ONE NATIVE AND ONE NON-NATIVE). DONOR COMPILED THE NAMES AND HISTORIES OF OVER 30 WOMEN WHO HAVE HAD A LARGE IMPACT ON LIFE IN LETHBRIDGE, WHICH WERE THEN TO BE COMPILED INTO A PAMPHLET WHICH WOULD BE GIVEN TO HOME OWNERS AND SCHOOL CHILDREN IN THE AREA. DONOR ALSO PUBLISHED A BOOK "WHERE WAS IT", WHICH DESCRIBES THE ORIGINAL BUILDINGS IN LETHBRIDGE, WITH THEIR LOCATIONS, HISTORY AND PHOTOGRAPHS. DONOR HAS BEEN SECRETARY OF THE LETHBRIDGE HISTORICAL SOCIETY AND HAS COMPILED THEIR NEWSLETTER FOR OVER 15 YEARS, AS WELL AS VOLUNTEERING EXTENSIVELY AT THE GALT MUSEUM. SHE IS A MEMBER OF THE GALT MUSEUM BOARD AND CHAIRS THE ACQUISITION COMMITTEE. SHE ALSO CONTRIBUTED TO THE CREATION OF THE MUSEUM'S 2005 EXPANSION PROPOSAL FOR SUBMISSION TO THE PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENT. SHE IS ALSO A MEMBER OF THE GALT NO. 8 MINE SOCIETY AND WAS INSTRUMENTAL IN GETTING THE NUMEROUS PLAQUES PLACED IN THE RIVER VALLEY WHICH DOCUMENT THE HISTORY OF MINING IN LETHBRIDGE.
