History / Biographical
Wladystaw (Walter) Zahorejko was born in Zborow area, Poland (now Ukraine) in 1904. He immigrated to Canada with his wife Weronica (Veronica, nee Cyma) in 1927. In a few years they arranged for their son Kazimiers Zahorejko to join them in Canada. In Lethbridge the family lived on 20th Street North with his wife and four children. Wladystaw Zahorejko worked for the CP Rail Company as a CPR section-man from 1934 to 1939. He died as a result of a heart attack while repairing the railway track between Champion & Carmangay, AB on April 28 1939. Aftern his death, his family moved to Coleman.
