Description
NAVY BLUE ELASTIC SUSPENDERS WITH A WHITE STRIPE ON THE OUTSIDE EDGES. FRONT HAS TWO LEATHER LOOPS ATTACHED TO EACH OF THE FRONT SHOULDER STRAPS. THE TWO FRONT STRAPS ARE ATTACHED TO THE SINGLE BACK STRAP WITH A WHITE LEATHER PIECE. THE SINGLE STRAP ALSO HAS TWO LEATHER BUTTON LOOPS ATTACHED TO END. BRASS ADJUSTMENT SLIDES ON THE TWO FRONT STRAPS. ELASTIC IS STRETCHED AND DRIED OUT.

ONE PIECE SEWN INTO A FLATTENED CYLINDER; WIDTH RANGES FROM 5.2-6.0 CM; THE EPAULETTES ARE BLACK FABRIC WITH RIBBON (4.3 CM) WRAPPED AROUND THE CYLINDER. ON THE RIBBON ARE THIN STRIPES: GOLD, BLACK, GOLD, BLACK, GOLD. THE OUTER GOLD STRIPES AND THE BLACK STRIPES ARE 2 CM WIDE, WHILE THE INNER GOLD STRIPE IS 1 CM WIDE.

THE SHOULDER FLASHES ARE FROM THE CRASH RESCUE UNIFORM WORN BY CAM HUTCHINSON-MACLEAN. HE BEGAN HIS CRASH RESCUE SERVICE IN EDMONTON IN 1981 BEFORE BEING TRANSFERRED TO KENYON FIELD (LETHBRIDGE AIRPORT) IN 1985. MR. HUTCHINSON-MACLEAN LEFT THE SERVICE IN 1989 HOLDING THE RANK OF FIRE RESCUE 3 (CAPTAIN). THE FIRE DEPARTMENT IS NO LONGER STATIONED AT THE AIRPORT.

TWO SHOULDER FLASHES; TRIANGULAR SHAPED; BLACK FABRIC WITH YELLOW THREAD BINDING THE EDGES. IN YELLOW THREAD IS THE SYMBOL FOR TRANSPORT CANADA AND THE WORDS "TRANSPORT CANADA". THE CREST ON THE FLASHES IS COMPRISED OF GOLD, YELLOW AND RED THREADS. THE CREST IS THE SAME AS THE CAP BADGE ON HAT (P19990022001-GA). IN THE CENTRE OF THE CIRCLE IS A RED MAPLE LEAF.

ELASTIC SUSPENDERS; BLUISH-GREY ON ONE SIDE, WHITE ON THE OTHER. THE TWO STRAPS ARE CROSSED AND STITCHED AT THE BACK. ATTACHED TO EACH BACK STRAP IS A BLACK LEATHER TAB WITH A SLOT IN IT. FRONT SHOULDER STRAPS EACH HAVE A BRASS ADJUSTING CLAMP, IMPRESSED WITH "POLICE BRACE". ATTACHED TO EACH END OF FRONT STRAPS IS A LOOP OF LEATHER, WITH A BRASS BUTTON, THROUGH WHICH IS ANOTHER PIECE OF LEATHER WITH FLATTENED ENDS, EACH WITH A SLOT IN IT.
