1. BLOOMERS. NAVY BLUE, WITH WHITE TRIM. HAS A TURNED DOWN COLLAR, WITH FOUR ROWS OF WHITE TRIM ON IT. FRONT OPENING, TO JUST BELOW WAISTLINE, CLOSES WITH 6 BLACK, BAKELITE BUTTONS. FRONT CLOSURE HAS TWO ROWS OF WHITE TRIM ON IT. SHORT SLEEVES ALSO HAVE TWO ROWS OF WHITE TRIM ON THEM. THERE IS A WORN AND FRAYED, WHITE CLOTH TAG INSIDE BACK OF NECKLINE. ONE LEG HAS BEEN SLIGHTLY BLEACHED AND BLOOMERS HAVE NUMEROUS WORN SPOTS AND HOLES THROUGHOUT. 2. SKIRT. NAVY BLUE WITH WHITE TRIM. GO WITH ABOVE BLOOMERS. WAISTBAND HAS 5 BUTTONHOLES AROUND IT. BACK OF SKIRT HAS AN OPENING WITN NO CLOSURE. BACK OF SKIRT HAS BEEN SLIGHTLY BLEACHED. ALSO HAS NUMEROUS WORN SPOTS AND HOLES.

THE FOLLOWING BIOGRAPHICAL INFORMATION WAS COMPILED USING ARTICLES FROM THE LETHBRIDGE HERALD. BEVERLY “BEV” NAGATA IS THE DAUGHTER OF FREDRICK I. SAUTER AND NORA JEAN SAUTER (NEE MCCOY). FREDRICK “FRED” I. SAUTER WAS BORN ON FEBRUARY 12, 1920, THE SON OF CHARLES SR. AND MARY SAUTER (MAIDEN NAME UNKNOWN). ACCORDING TO HIS OBITUARY, HE WAS THE FIRST BABY BORN IN THE TOWN OF VAUXHALL, AB. HE OWNED AND OPERATED SAUTER’S GENERAL SUPPLIES FOR THREE TO FOUR DECADES. HE PASSED AWAY AT THE AGE OF 88 ON NOVEMBER 9, 2008. NORA JEAN SAUTER (NEE MCCOY) WAS BORN IN PORT ALBERNI, BC ON APRIL 1, 1913, THE DAUGHTER OF JOHN AND HATTIE MCCOY (MAIDEN NAME UNKNOWN) AND TWIN OF DAVID MCCOY. SHE WAS RAISED AND EDUCATED IN EDMONTON AND GRADUATED FROM THE EDMONTON GENERAL HOSPITAL AS A NURSE. SHE ALSO ATTENDED MCGILL UNIVERSITY AND RECEIVED A DIPLOMA IN PUBLIC HEALTH NURSING. SHE BEGAN AS A PUBLIC HEALTH NURSE IN VAUXHALL, IN 1940. SHE WAS MARRIED TO FRED SAUTER ON AUGUST 20, 1942. NORA PASSED AWAY AT THE AGE OF 90 ON JULY 10, 2003. CHARLES R. SAUTER SR. WAS THE FIRST RESIDENT OF VAUXHALL AND WORKED FOR THE PIONEER LUMBER COMPANY. HE WAS ALSO REPORTEDLY THE FIRST RESIDENT OF VAUXHALL TO OWN A CAR. HE PASSED AWAY AT THE AGE OF 76 ON AUGUST 4, 1969. LOGO CONSISTS OF A BUFFALO HEAD IN THE CENTER OF AN OVAL SHAPE; WITHIN BORDER OF OVAL READS "MAINTIENS LE DROIT". ATOP OVAL IS A CROWN; ON THE SIDES OF THE OVAL ARE MAPLE LEAVES; AND BELOW OVAL IS A BANNER SHAPE, WITHIN WHICH READS "ROYAL CANADIAN MOUNTED POLICE". THERE IS A TAG ON INSIDE BACK OF NECK; TAG IS WHITE WITH RED PRINT THAT READS "UNIQUE UNIQUE PRODUCTS CO TORONTO".

BELONGED TO DONOR'S FATHER, EDWARD BUCHANAN. DONOR THINKS SHIRT WAS USED BY FATHER DURING SPORTS ACTIVITIES. EDWARD WAS A MEMBER OF THE ALBERTA PROVINCIAL POLICE FROM 1919 UNTIL 1932 WHEN HE TRANSFERRED TO THE ROYAL CANADIAN MOUNTED POLICE. HE WAS A SENIOR STAFF SARGEANT, ROYAL CANADIAN MOUNTED POLICE AT LETHBRIDGE FROM MAY 1944 TO NOV. 1950. HE RETIRED IN 1950, THEN BECAME DIRECTOR OF CORRECTIONS FOR THE PROVINCE OF ALBERTA. FOLLOWING RETIREMENT, EDWARD BECAME A MEMBER OF THE RCMP VETERAN'S ASSOCIATION IN 1950/51 IN EDMONTON AND REMAINED A MEMBER UNTIL HIS PASSING; HE ALSO SERVED AS PRESIDENT OF THIS ASSOCIATION. ON EACH SIDE OF CHEST IS A FLAPPED PATCH POCKET THAT ALSO CLOSES WITH A BUTTON (AS ABOVE). SHIRT HAS A TURNED DOWN COLLAR, AND A PLAIN OLIVE GREEN EPAULETTE ON EACH SHOULDER THAT IS HELD IN PLACE WITH A BUTTON (AS ABOVE). A WHITE TAG, ON INSIDE BACK, WITH BLACK PRINT READS "ALLAN SHIRT FINELY TAILORED". STAMPED ABOVE TAG IS "16", AND STAMPED BELOW TAG IS "7 5 45". STAMPED ON UNDERSIDE OF COLLAR, ON OUTSIDE BACK OF SHIRT, IS "ALLAN QUALITY 7 5 45 R.C.M.P.". THERE IS ALSO A BUTTON HOLE ON BACK OF COLLAR.

HE WAS A SENIOR STAFF SARGEANT, ROYAL CANADIAN MOUNTED POLICE AT LETHBRIDGE FROM MAY 1944 TO NOV. 1950. HE RETIRED IN 1950, THEN BECAME DIRECTOR OF CORRECTIONS FOR THE PROVINCE OF ALBERTA. BADGES INDICATE THAT CRAIG WAS A NON COMMISSIONED OFFICER WITH RANK OF SARGEANT, SERVING FOR AT LEAST 10 YRS (2 SERVICE STARS). HE WAS A ROUGHRIDER (RIDING INSTRUCTOR-SPUR BADGE), SERVED IN W.W. I & WAS LIKELY A MARKSMAN WITH REVOLVERS. CRAIG DIED AT AGE 62, OCT. 15 1952 IN LETHBRIDGE. HE JOINED THE ROYAL NORTH WEST MOUNTED POLICE FORCE DEC. 22 1908, DISCHARGED JULY 24 1911. REJOINED FEB. 15, 1915 WITH CALVARY DRAFT FOR W.W.I RETURNED FROM OVERSEAS & AGAIN DISCHARGED ON AUG 29 1922 TO JOIN ALBERTA PROVINCIAL POLICE FORCE. ROYAL CANADIAN MOUNTED POLICE QUARTERLY OBITUARY IDENTIFIES CRAIG HAS HAVING ACHIEVED RANK OF CONSTABLE, ALTHOUGH JACKET INDICATES RANK OF SARGENT. ALSO NOTED ON ORIGINAL CATALOG SHEET IS APPOINTMENT AS RIDING MASTER, THIS IS NOT MENTIONED IN THE OBITUARY. REF: "ROYAL CANADIAN MOUNTED POLICE QUARTERLY" VOL #4, & "UNIFORMS OFCANADIAN MOUNTED POLICE" J.J. BOULTON. WIDOW DONATED UNIFORM IN 1967. BORN IN ARMAUGH, IRELAND IN 1890, JOSEPH CRAIG EMIGRATED TO CANADA AT THE AGE OF SEVENTEEN. IN 1908 HE JOINED THE ROYAL NORTH WEST MOUNTED POLICE AT CALGARY AND FOLLOWING A THREE YEAR TERM, HE WAS DISCHARGED IN 1911. HE REJOINED IN 1915 AND WAS RECRUITED OVERSEAS WITH THE SIBERIAN EXPEDITIONARY FORCE "B" SQUADRON DURING THE FIRST WORLD WAR. AFTER HIS RETURN IN 1919, CRAIG BECAME CHIEF RIDING INSTRUCTOR AT THE LETHBRIDGE BARRACKS. IN 1922, CRAIG TRANSFERRED TO THE ALBERTA PROVINCIAL POLICE BECAUSE HE BELIEVED IT WAS "POLICE WORK", BUT RETURNED TO THE ROYAL CANADIAN MOUNTED POLICE WHEN THE PROVINCIAL FORCE WAS ABSORBED IN 1932. HAVING ACHEIVED THE RANK OF SERGEANT, CRAIG RETIRED FROM THE MOUNTED POLICE THAT SAME YEAR AND SETTLED IN BOW ISLAND AND LETHBRIDGE TO TRAIN AND RAISE POLICE DOGS AND HORSES. IN LETHBRIDGE HE OPERATED CRAIGAVON KENNELS AND RIDING SCHOOL. JOSEPH CRAIG PASSED AWAY IN LETHBRIDGE IN 1952 AT THE AGE OF 52 YEARS.
