UPRIGHT OAK DOLLY WITH STEEL PANELS ON FRONT OF RUNGS AND STRUTS. TWO STEEL WHEELS AND AXEL AT BOTTOM, WITH BENT STEEL RODS BELOW HANDLES WHICH ACT AS LEGS WHEN DOLLY IS POSITIONED HORIZONTALLY. STEEL PARTS PAINTED GREEN, WITH SOME PAINT CHIPPED AND WORN OFF, ESPECIALLY ON WHEELS. STENCILLED IN BLACK ON TOP RUNG IS "01-2", WITH "70 LBS." ON SECOND RUNG. BOTH SIDES OF DOLLY PAINTED WITH RED RECTANGLE READING "THE CANADIAN FAIRBANKS-MORSE COMPANY LIMITED". NAMEPLATE ON INSIDE OF LEFT HANDLE READS "MANUFACTURED BY THE CANADIAN FAIRBANKS-MORSE COMPANY LIMITED" WITH LIST OF CANADIAN CITIES. WHITE PAINT SPLATTER ON LEFT HANDLE. WOOD SURFACE IS SCRATCHED THROUGHOUT, AND STEEL PARTS HAVE CONSIDERABLE CORROSION WHERE PAINT HAS WORN.

FOUND BY DONOR IN MINE ON HIS SUMMER PROPERTY IN THE BEAVER MINES AREA. MINE WAS ABANDONED AFTER WWII DUE TO LOW GRADE OF COAL. ITEMS SALVAGED BY DONOR PRIOR TO HIS RETIREMENT FROM THE U OF L (PSYCHOLOGY PROFESSOR) TO THE WEST COAST IN 1996.
