The tractor school was the largest ever held in Canada to that time. Two hundred twenty people were registered for the two and a half day course, and 197 attended the school on 4 February. The course provided practical instruction as well as theory. Mr. Makin, Mr. Carrol and Mr. O'Sullivan were the instructors for the course.

Students of the International Harvester Company tractor school standing in front of the company's building at the corner of 9 Street and 3 Avenue North in Lethbridge.
This draft of 50 men left Lethbridge on 15 December 1915, and spent Christmas day 1915 on a ship sailing to England. Some of these men were fighting on the front lines by March 1916. Oscar Willetts returned to Lethbridge in April 1918.
This photograph belonged to Mrs. Oscar Willetts, who donated it to the Royal Canadian Legion, General Stewart Branch No. 4.
