History / Biographical
Pierre deJourdan was born in France in 1883. After graduating from the University of Paris and spending two years in the French Army, he came to Canada. He established a photographic studio known as the deJourdan Studio in Lethbridge in 1921. After his death in 1934, his son John took over the business. Following his retirement in 1984, his son Patrick became the third generation to operate the studio.

The fonds consists of ca. 4,200 photographic negatives and ca. 400 proof prints of the deJourdan Studio of Lethbridge, made up mostly of portraits of individuals, family groups, babies, weddings, students and funerals. Includes some commercial photography depicting businesses and community activity in and around Lethbridge.

History / Biographical
The Lethbridge Women's Musical Club was formed in 1932. The club's purpose was to stimulate interest in music, encourage students of music, give people a chance to hear visiting artists, and widen the appreciation of music in the Lethbridge area. The club became dormant in 1939 but was revived in 1951 as the Women's Musical Club of Lethbridge, with an emphasis on supporting and encouraging musicians in Southern Alberta. The club disbanded in 1970.
