Produced and directed by James K. McNally, and narrated by Ian McDonald, this documentary shows the aftermath of the explosion at the Chernobyl Nuclear Plant on April 26, 1986. The effects of the nuclear contamination on the health of the region's population is described, along with the lack of resources and of government support. The effects on agriculture and on eating contaminated food is also described. The Children of Chernobyl organization is profiled. Individuals interviewed are: Dr. Marina Shtefanyuck, Minsk Hospital #1. Malvina Martinenko, Pripyat evacuee. Galina Nizhnik, Pripyat evacuee. Nikolay Olyalin, Kiev. Valery Nesterenko, Byelorussian Academy of Science. Yevgeny Voitoivch, Byelorussian Culture Minister. Svetlana and Anatoly Lavor of Molodechno spoke about food contamination and illness in the family. Dr. Olga Aleinikova, Minsk Hospital #1. Dr. Kupriyanov Borisovich, Mins Hospital #1. Dr. Valery S.
