The approximate populatons of cities, towns and village according to the 1931 census are also shown along with mileages between stars.
Notes
The scale of these two maps is about 38 miles to the inch. Relief shown by hachures and spot heights. 3 inset maps entitled: "Main connections in the Lake Superior Region" (Scale 1 inch = 100 miles) "Vancouver and vincinity" [sic.] (Scale 1 inch = 4 miles) "Principal highway routes of Canada and the Northern United States" (Scale 1 inch = 200 miles) Text on this map indicates: "Main highway routes between Eastern and Western Canada are indicated in red. When the road from Kenora to Port Arthur and Fort William is completed, an all Canadian route from West to East will be open, utilizing the steamer service between the head of the lakes and Sault Ste. Marie. This map shows main trunk lines only; many other roads have been omitted. Roads under construction are shown." Boundaries: From 22nd Avenue South to Elgin Avenue North and the Belly River to the Race Track (approximately 43rd Street South) Shows areas entitled: Parcel A, Parcel B, Adams Park, Cemeteries, Brick Yards, Proposed Industrial Site, Westminster School, Galbraith School, Fleetwood School, Galt Park, Flour Mills, Manual Training School, Central School, R.N.W.M.P. Barracks, Athletic Grounds, Baseball, Football Lacrosse, Cricket, Tennis, Exhibition Grounds, Race Track, Queen Victoria Park. Shows location of: Pump House, Power House, Spur to No. 6 Mine, No. 3 Shaft, Woolen Mill, A. R. & I. Shops, CPR Shops, Overhead Bridge, Cemetery, Island, Belly River, Lake. Additionally, the Canadian Pacific Railway and Depot and the Former Crow Nest Branch are in black ink. The location of the "International Dry Farming Congress 1912." is indicated by an arrow pointing towards the Exhibition Grounds. Street Car Route is shown by a straight line in black ink.

Scale: 4.375 inch = .50 mile A label is added to the righthand side of the map: "Map Showing Letter Carriers Routes Boundaries Shown in Red Scale 600 feet to the inch." Postal boundaries are labelled 1-11. Most numbered streets and avenues include their previously held names in brackets. Shows blocks labelled in letters, cardinal numbers or roman numerals. Some of the Legal Subdivision numbers appear on the map. Subdivision names are printed in black over the corresponding areas. The location of the "International Dry Farming Congress 1912." is indicated by an arrow pointing towards the Exhibition Grounds. A blue line runs from left to right on the lower half of the map. The Melody Queens Orchestra played in Lethbridge and surrounding small district towns in the 1920s and 1930s. They were a small orchestra with Muriel and Phyllis Clarke. Muriel played piano and Phyllis the violin. They augmented their instruments with other family members when the need arose.

The Marquis bakery was located on the street level of the Marquis Hotel. The establishment was previously owned by Sven Erickson under the name Marquis Pastry & Candy Shop Ltd. In 1965, the space was operated by Roger Sergo under the name Marquis Bake Shop. Roger Sergo owned the bakery from 1962-1968.

History / Biographical
Nick Bolokoski was born in Hardieville October, 6, 1918 and educated there. He joined the Canadian Forces in Calgary 1940. He was with the First Kings Own Rifles in Moose Jaw and Terrace, British Columbia before being posted overseas. There he was stationed with the South Saskatchewan Regiment before tranferring to the Royal Winnipeg Rifles. He landed in France shortly after and saw action in Caen, Falaise, Turin and Calais. He was killed in action September 27, 1944. His cousin Steve Bolokoski was killed in France, in July of that year.
