History / Biographical
Elias John Holberton was born December 8, 1892 at Plymouth, England. He emigrated to Canada in the early 1900’s and was employed in the construction industry in Lethbridge. On August 17, 1914 he enlisted with the Royal North West Mounted Police and served in Regina, Whitehorse, and Dawson City. His regiment number was 5874. He enlisted with the Lord Strathcona Horse Regiment on May 23, 1917 serving overseas in Britain and France. His regimental number was 2293511. He discharged June 2, 1919 and returned to Lethbridge to take up farming. He later joined the Lethbridge City Police and in later years was employed by the city Parks Department. He married Annie Elizabeth Dunk at St Cyprians Church, Lethbridge on June 26, 1919. He died in Lethbridge December 21, 1965 and is interred in the Field of Honor, Mountain View Cemetery.

History / Biographical
Frederick George Holberton was born in Lethbridge May 21, 1920. He attended Tuxis Boys’ Parliament in 1939 as a delegate from the Meteor Tuxis Square of First United Church, Lethbridge. His association with the Tuxis Parliament continued when in 1962 he became the first chairman of the alumni Society, a position he held for 7 years. In later years he served as lieutenant-governor. A graduate of Lethbridge schools, Fred became an Assessor with the National Revenue (Taxation) after service in World War II as a Lieutenant with the Canadian Army.

Anton Jellenig was born in Austria and emigrated to the Melville, Saskatchewan area. In 1941 he came to Shaughnessy and worked in the Shaughnessy mine. In 1949, he opened the Shaughnessy Coffee Shop. This grew into Tony's Cash Store, which he operated until his retirement in 1976. Anton Jellenig passed away in 1985. The store is in operation today as "Tickety Boo" in Shaughnessy.
Custodial History
The donor's husband was in possession of these documents as an executor of Anton Jellenig's estate.
Scope and Content
Canadian passport issued to Anton Jellenig in 1980. Various business documents including legders, Unemployment Insurance Commission certificate, a time book, resource materials on pricing, business license, etc. Map of Shaughnessy-Lethbridge Coal Reserves produced by Fording Coal Ltd. "Plan of additions to the Townsite of Wallace". The original name of the town and school district was Wallace. In 1929 the post office was named Shaughnessy (after Lord Shaughnessy, mine owner) as there were other post offices named Wallace.

Compiled by Inspector I.C. Shank. Isreal Shank was born in Athabasca in 1911, the eldest of 15 children born to Eddie Jedeon Shank and Rosana Goulet. He attended the Olds School of Agriculture from 1928-1930 and worked at the Dominion Experimental Sub-station, Beaverlodge. He joined the RCMP in 1934 and retired in 1969 as a Chief-Superintendent. Mr. Shank died in 2006.
